The India Gallerie - Ethnic Pieces
*
Each of the recently made pieces below
is a part of my collection.
Most of the pieces are in the forms of
Orhnis (Shawl size) or Saris
but as a collector I look at them
as examples of textile art
rather than as the draping format.
Each item has been handpicked over scores of others
that I have seen and rejected
as commonplace or mediocre examples
of the weaving type.
Some categories are hard to come by
as the numbers of some tribal weavers is dwindling
and even
with my relationships with the rarer weavers,
I sometimes have to wait patiently to view their pieces.
