Another family owned wedding sari - a 'tissue' sari with real silver zari.
'Tissue' implies the use of zari thread in the warps - resulting
in a shimmer throughout the sari. This adds to the beauty of the sari,
and to the difficulty in photographing it !
Saris in the period before 1950 are characetrised by a narrow 'palloo' or end piece.
Further, this (and the aubergine banarasi heirloom sari) have a broad bottom border
and a narrow upper border.
