Woven Souls
*
Fine Ulos circa 1920

Textiles were part of the wealth given to a bride at the wedding ceremony in the olden days. (not so hard for textile lovers to understand!)
The grandeur of a textile piece lay inthe beads that were woven into the textile directly onto the warps and wefts.
This technique possible only in hand weaving, has been lost in modern textiles.
This piece was part of a wedding ceremony and was
gifted to the bride's grandmother in the 1920s.
