This piece of islamic calligraphy possibly a depiction of the 'Buraq'
was acquired from the Golconda region
in India.
The contents of the text are now being researched and will probably lead
to definitive answers about its age, origin and usage.
The fabric has thined out and deteriorated to different levels in different spots -
maybe on account of the starching or gluing process
adopted to provide a creasefree surface.
